Today has been a rather busy day!

I met up with Abner at Notting Hill Gate for the grand purposes of walking the Circle Line with him (he'd been going since 8am this morning and had already done Liverpool Street round to Notting Hill Gate clockwise, but that's a bit much for my little legs!). So I joined him for the remaining ~7 miles, Notting Hill back to Liverpool Street. It was fun! Nice to see him again, nice to get some fresh(-ish) air and exercise, and nice to see some new bits of London - the Paddington/Notting Hill Gate/Baker Street corner of London is still unfamiliar to me.

Then I went home, stuffed myself with some lunch (Abel and Cole are amazing 99% of the time, but this week's plums have been Fail - so far only 2 out of the 5 we've eaten so far have been passable, the others being either off or with the texture of balsa wood, sorry Abel and Cole), and headed out again, this time to Stratford for essential shopping (e.g. hamster food), returned with lots of bits and bobs that I've needed or wanted to some extent lately. Including PINK SUEDE GARDENING GLOVES! Squee!

And then I came home again, cleaned out all the hamsters (it's a rather military-scale operation these days and makes the kitchen a largely no-go area for the best part of an hour, but fortunately they're allm synchronised, so it's only once every 5 days). Sucrose is currently on a diet after she spectacularly managed to become twice the size of her sister despite having exactly the same food. So no peanuts, no sunflower seeds, and at least 5 minutes a day running around in the ball. She's sulking, but I think it's having an effect.

[livejournal.com profile] luin77, you'll hopefully be pleased to know that the boxes those Niederegger Latte/Cappucino/Hot Chocolate sachets came in have been put to good use - both Rubisco and Sucrose are now using one as their primary bedrooms!

Now I'm relaxing for a while before dinner. Because after that we're off to the cinema!

I'm supposed to go into work tomorrow and test a bee, but I'm strongly tempted to just go in, feed them, and spend the afternoon getting on top of the mountain of marking that I'm trying not to think about. (If you're listening, Statistics God, please implant inspiration into the minds of my undergraduates so they realise what a null hypothesis is and what a t-value is actually supposed to tell them.)

Phew!

The bee got 7 out of 10.

Bee plus, in other words.
