I've been scarily motivated all week - staying till late, actually working rather than procrastinating, still doing worky stuff in the evenings. Of course, some of it is futile as I just found out a paper I've been dabbling with for a year was based on an incomplete dataset and certain people didn't even notice till now... It's been useful, and when I'm like this I try to run with it as much as possible.

A good fraction of my videos are yielding useful results, and eyeballing them, they seem to conform to expectations. We'll see whether they hold up when hit with statistics... My adorably cute little bee colony is adorably cute, and some new bee babies have emerged in the last few days which means I should have a decent number of foragers soon. So more data from there, hurrah.

At the weekend, as some of you may have read on [livejournal.com profile] tuxedo_elf's LJ, I visited Her Tuxieness and the TuxBaby. Aedan seems to approve of his Aunty Eni, and his Aunty Eni thinks he is getting cooler as he gets older. Four and a half month old babies are definitely easier to handle as they can hold up their own heads more or less, and look around and grab stuff (hair, arms, fingers...) and smile at you. So that was fun.

I also checked Tux's local dogwalking field for beetles. Found none.

And also, I did some gardening. Tux's front garden was...fairly enthusiastically vegetative, shall we say? So I packed up my gardening stuff and brought it over there.

I've been fanatically reading Dragonlance recently. It's very odd how I suddenly got this Raistlin craving a few weeks ago...

In other news, I think I might get a bunny again sometime in the not too distant future. I say this because I've actually read a tiny bit of fanfic recently, poked at some original briefly a few weeks ago, and am sort of poking some old but complete stuff at the moment. It would be quite nice to get some of my unfinished fics complete, but we'll have to see what happens I guess.

Wheeee! Glad someone else agrees with me!

I really don't know what it is about Raistlin...I think he appeals to my mothering instincts!

I don't know, he was the first 'bad' guy I was fascinated by when I started reading fantasy, I just think he's a brilliant, brilliant character. (I like Dalamar too, but that's a whole different thing *grin*) The Dragonlance books were also the first fantasy I read, after The Hobbit and LOTR, of course!

Damn, I think I need to go hunt down a Raistlin icon now, if such a thing exists.

Thanks! I really enjoy gardening, actually; there's something enormously satisfying about conquering a hge swathe of weeds!

I have never been too successful with plants, but I love gardens. :)
