Here are some quick photos from Pride. Please note that, considering this is Pride, some people are dressed slightly unconventionally, and therefore if your employer is a bit prudish this is probably NSFW. But no dangly bits that I noticed...

Alas, my camera takes a while to turn on, so I missed Boris in the pink stetson!

In any case...we had some token Fundie protesters. *petpetpet* That preacher was very cool - the amount of passion he was able to muster was really quite impressive. We were rather disappointed when he took a tea break and a much less charismatic guy took over. To note: there were quite a number of church groups, from Catholics to Unitarians, in the parade itself, so go them!

The Rainbow Flag is very very long indeed and because of our position I was only able to capture a tiny bit...

Colourful flags and costumes...

Equally colourful floats from many groups...

This really is Sir Ian McKellen (*squeals in delight*) but he turned his head as I took the photo, meep!

The alternative...

The random...

These guys just made me feel happy inside. They are amazing.

Pride ducks in the fountain in Trafalgar Square!!!!

And muchly exciting... OMG FREEMA AGYEMAN! So gorgeous!

So that was fun.

The next photos to go up here will be those of me in my AMAZING NEW WIZARD ROBES OF GREATNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Yes, they really do warrant that many exclamation marks.) As soon as I get the flatmates to take some photos as I just don't have long enough arms to do that self-portrait business!

Funnily enough there where even some religous nut jobs with signs around the train station, fan zones and the stadion on the day of the opening ceremony for the Euro.
So I guess the GLBT community isn't more evil then the football community ;)

I loved Wonder Woman because he/she was the epitome of pride of oneself! (And because the costume was gorgeous)

People who claims not heterosexual orientations to go against nature aren't too familiar with true nature, I would say. I like the excuse "God forbids it just because" much better. It's stupid, but at least coherent.

OK, rainbow flags I kind of expect, but Zimbabwean flags? Um, what? Any idea why they were being carried?

I believe it's something to do with the protests over the government's treatment of LGBT refugees. Something which I unfortunately don't have any real knowledge about but which appears to arouse some strong feelings.
