enismirdalYes, I'm really happy today, because after much loving, slaving, talking nicely to my muses and bribing them with sweets to persuade them to come out and stop hiding under the bed, This Hope is actually finished in its first draft. Yippetty yippetty doodle doo! OK, so it still needs some big work doing, but it's basically all there now. So yeah, Girly darling, I'll see if I can't send the draft version to you sometime tonight.
Riding is now punishing me greatly. The inside muscles in my thighs are totally shot; I've got this odd walk thing going, and can't really run.
I got to go coxing with the Quad Squad, aka the Trafford (w)rec(k)s! (They're the ones who don't race, and meet up a couple of times a week for some light sculling) That was fun. The canal has a couple of dead birds in at the moment cos the awful wind yesterday landed a few of them in the water, and if they weren't dead already, that would have drowned them. Mainly feral pigeons though, so no terrible loss. Meanwhile my Dad's race on the Tideway was cancelled cos of the wind, so he went all the way to Finchley, London and back for nothing :(
The weather seems to disagree with me, and my throat is kind of sore. So I'm guzzling Hall's Soothers, which seems to help (it could just be the sugar though). I'm watching the rain and wind out of the window and being happy that I'm not out in it :)
