Now I've all finished This Hope and I'm getting it beta'd, I realised that's the only serious Glorfindel/Erestor I still had going. Well, there are bits of drabblation, and random sillinesses which I'm not going to publish, but that's the only real one. And now it's done. And I miss them. I have Glorfindel/Erestor-writing withdrawal symptoms :(
Fortunately, I'm having a great run at present with All I Have Left, my Eluréd/Elurín. Eluréd muse is sitting like a cute thing on my bed, and keeps things running; the twins are really growing on me. This is going to be another longish fic...
And if I want Glorfindel, I can finish Reborn, and there are lots of other plot bunnies waiting for attention, it's just a matter of getting round to them. But I have no Erestor-fics in progress! *sniffle*
I miss him already!
It's funny when you know someone so well you can say completely meaningless sentences and they still understand. For example, my brother, watching the movie Identity: "It's...thingy...off...thingy!"
I laughed and agreed immediately. He meant the actor who played Jacob Carter off SG1 :). I've had similar conversations with my mum. Nouns are irrelevant.
Bogey, remarkably, lives on, and seems to be improving somewhat. Which is good to know. Sprouts seems exactly the same, i.e. still perky, eating, shiny coat; still has lump in rather embarassing place (well, it probably doesn't embarrass her...)
I'm still doing the spaghetti thing. I'm sure it's not normal...
Why am I hungry now? I want carbs! *goes to find some*

Thanx!

Date: 24 Mar 2004 21:58 (UTC)Underestimated is already up on Melethryn, but if you're anything like me, there's always too many fics and never enough time to read them. The E/E is turning into a lot of fun; I'm really enjoying it, so that's cool. The thing is, the plot:slash ratio at the moment is tending to favour plot over proper slash. There's implied, but not a great deal of actual. Is that good or bad? I dunno.
I'm really looking forward to the stuff you're planning to put up on your new journal - it sounds great, cos I've done similar stuff in the past, although never got very far with the language bit (the inevitable result of trying to design a language with 8 grades of formality, I guess!!). Did you mention family trees? I love them :)

Date: 26 Mar 2004 01:37 (UTC)And yes, I have read your fic that's up on Melethryn! :D It was really good. Hurrah for obscure characters. Concerning your E/E one, plot is always lovely. Smut is lovely, too, but really it depends on my mood. I often find myself reading fic just for the mushy romance bits, and then scrolling past the smutty bits and not reading them at all. And then at other times, I read fics just for the smutty bits. :3 Personally, I think a lot of plottyness (not a word) works very well in Silmarillion fics. I can't imagine a Silmarillion fic without much plot. If that makes any sense at all. :)
