Went shopping.

Toured more or less every bookshop in Altrincham.

I had no idea it was that hard to get hold of gay erotica in book form. It's so easy online...why not in RL? Shops seem to be amazingly good at hiding it. They put it right in the middle of 'Fiction A-Z' or 'Sociology'. And it was even suggested I check out 'Photography'! *facepalm* (Oh dear, I'm picking up Anu-isms). It's just hilarious asking for gay erotica to see how the assistants react - to their credit, they all tend to be very helpful about it (presumably because they actually get quite a number of such queries).

Apologies to anyone who reads the stuff, but I've also discovered that Mills and Boone books are truly distressingly bad. But should I expect anything better of fiction which comes with covers in bright primary colours?

I know a place in York that used to sell it.

I will nurture the belief that some place in Greater Manchester will also sell it, but so far I do not know where. The Porn/Bookshops in Shudehill seem more targeted at dirty old men with a breast fetish :(

I was about to recommend that shop. Didn't it go postal (I don't mean that it shot everyone, just that the shop closed and went mail order only)

I'm thinking of the one on Gillygate - are you?

If so, it did it after I stopped visiting York regularly.

I'm thinking about the only lesbian bookshop in York (and indeed in much of the UK) that Cathy used to rave about (she's from York). However, I have no idea where it was, having never been to York without my parents.

Mills and Boone is very, very bad. I remember sitting around with a girlfriend, reading choice paragraphs out loud, and cracking up merrily.

In Borders in Cambridge it's next to Sci Fi & Fantasy. Well, more next to fantasy.

Lol! I can see the logic there, tenuous as it may be :)

Worrying that I know this, I will blame my corruption on eni. But they have moved it in Borders; it now resides by politics, opposite biographies of Mrs Thatcher if I remember rightly.
