Wednesday: I have a vague feeling I slept until about noon. Can't remember what I did in the afternoon; probably spodded. Evening, Girly was at a Formal, and when she got back her and Avvie and I all watched Dogma and drank Bailey's and snuggled. Then we decided to go for a walk and ended up going paddling at 2am, which was fun and smelled all chlorine-like. Got to bed at ~4am.
Thursday: got up at noon (yay!). Lazed around for a bit and did shopping-type stuff. Went to a girly outing with
cobalt_skye, and met lots of charming new people such as
l_j_b. Ate food. Played frisbee. Got to fish frisbee out of nettles, which was fun as I'm practically the only person who isn't really bothered by the concept of nettles. Then went to a Formal (my first Formal since Matriculation dinner in October!). Got plied with wine - glass seemed bottomless. Got pennied twice but sulked the second time so ended up drinking that one slowly with the coffee. It was all quite fun but I'm still not convinced. Food was unimpressive. Bed ~11:30pm
Friday: Physiology management committee meeting. Chatted inanely about student opinions and general Physiology stuff. Shopping-type stuff for Avvie's May Ball. Then engagment party with
atreic and
emperor. Hadn't met
atreic before in RL but really liked her. Also met other people, like
ilanin and
claruscuro and
pavanne who were nice and fun and cool - yay! Was cool party - YAY! Got taxi home fairly early owing to lack of energy - still not recovered from exams. Spodded and got to bed at 4:05am. Yayness!
Saturday: got up horribly early to meet CTS for Puntmoot. Punting is something that is done in any nice town with a reasonable-sized, slow river that goes through nice surroundings. Think Venetian gondolas, only with a (possibly not sober) student or tourist in charge of steering the thing. Waited and later found we'd got crossed wires and were waiting at the wrong place. Set off with 2 punts. Went with the CTS to Granchester. Ate food. Ate more food. Watched demonstrations of bridge-hopping and steering into nettles, then later attempted the latter but not the former (although not on purpose). Mostly got the hang of punting but suspect it may be bacause we had 2 boats chained together and Jack on the other punt was doing most of the work. Got back covered in Cam water and therefore needed a shower. Then met up with Girly and Avvie and
gyre and chatted and stuff. Helped Avvie do packing. Bed ~2am
Sunday: got up at 10:30am in the end. Did pre-breakfast shopping for the purpose of getting breakfast. Avvie, Girly, Bradders and I went for a gorgeous yummy picnic, but I had to run off early because I had a rehearsal to attend. Found myself involved in a scary situation, i.e. one requiring me to sing. The troubles with getting Eni to sing are multiple:
Therefore, results must have been dubious. Also got to record pub noises. My Nob sounded slightly stoned, but never mind. Am now collapsing prior to some mention of going out later.
While I'm here, Happy Birthday to
megamole! Have fun!

As you have probably surmised, May Week is seriously mad. My next 'quiet' day will be Thursday.

Found myself involved in a scary situation, i.e. one requiring me to sing. The troubles with getting Eni to sing are multiple:
- Eni has no idea what a key is
- Consequently, Eni changes key up to twice a bar
- This sounds fine to her
- Eni doesn't appear to be able to hear herself sing the same way other people can; what sounds lovely to her sounds awful to everyone else
- The tune in Eni's head seldom matches the one coming out of her mouth
- Eni's natural range is a kind of mezzo-soprano, but Eni's head thinks it is a high soprano. This doesn't work.
Therefore, results must have been dubious. Also got to record pub noises. My Nob sounded slightly stoned, but never mind. Am now collapsing prior to some mention of going out later.

Date: 14 Jun 2004 08:35 (UTC)At least the singing was not solo stuff. I think it's fun to sing along with everyone else (even though I, too, share your philosophy about keys etc). You didn't sound out of tune or anything to me - and I can *vaguely* tell the difference ;-)
