Well, after packing, I pottered into Manchester (i.e. Metro) having discovered where the coach station is. Sat around for a bit and got on coach. So far going great - coach left on time, making good time.

Till the M6 got near Birmingham. Friday afternoon, accident on M6, traffic solid. Coach driver nipped down the hard shoulder, exited at the next exit and took us on a lovely winding road through the countryside. Texted Avvie to appraise him of the situation, and then realised that with 3p credit, I needed to work out how to refill my phone with money. Did so. By the time we pulled into Birmingham coach station, we were 1 and a half hours late, and I'd missed my connection by 45 minutes.

Well, no real problem, because the nice coach people got me a taxi to the rail station, and gave me a rail voucher, which got me a free ticket to go by train to Oxfnord. Of course, the train pulled in at 1818, and my coach had left the coach station at 1800, but by that time it was OK, cos Avvie's wonderful dad had offered to collect me from the station - woohoo! Avvie arrived and I hugged him lots and was happy, especially as I'd just drunk a load of coffee :)

In the evening, we watched POTC, which is good. I now see the slash-appeal, and I must say, Johnny Depp is brilliant in it. Orlando is Orlando, i.e. terribly pretty and not much else. Keira Knightly is also terribly pretty and stuff. Watched some outtakes at well, and laughed. Also cuddled. Yay!

Having got comfy at Avvie's, we decided to do a day in London.
London is big. Also hot. Discovered that the line from Avvie's house is the same one as one of my uncles uses. Ran into Mr Balrogh and Glorfindel-who-I-will-one-day-slay-for-nicking-my-Elf in London and said hi. It's kind of cool meeting people you know in a place that big, so I was all excited.

Did Tate Modern and Camden. I'm always a fan of Camden, and was amused to see that Cyberdog is now lower in volume than it used to be - you can actually hold a conversation in there (admittedly shouting the conversation is still necessary). Considered buying some stupidly cheap rings, but Avvie sensibly pointed out that they were c-r-a-p, so I didn't. Went in an arcade that has the same dance machine that Stephen Hawking dances on in the albinoblacksheep flash animation.

Got back and watched several episodes of the High Life on DVD, which is a top series, even if it is 10 years old, nearly. Laughed lots and concluded the two lead characters were most definitely sleeping together. "Ooooh dearie me!"

Spontaneously that evening, we decided tomorrow would be Girly-visiting day. We knew Avvie's parents were going to visit his granny on Sunday, and that evening Avvie suddenly went, "Ooh, Girly lives near there!" So we hopped in the car and went to see Girly. Wooohoooo! *squees delightedly*
Met Girly at this shopping centre place. We browsed some shops. I was persuaded to buy a skirt. Eni in a skirt? Yes, really. I now need tops to go with it. It's a very pretty skirt, optimal length to be flattering and all black wit pink flower patterns on. Yes, I'm saying Nice Things about a skirt. Weird, innit?

We went back to Girly's hometown. She took us to a wonderful bunny-chow café for lunch and we had pizza bread and stuff. Then she took us to a sweetie shop.

Ooops.

I spent nearly £4 on sweets. Fudge, nougat, Turkish Delight. Scrummy.

Girly showed us the sea, we ate fudge and nougat. Then we went to Girly's place. I had a delightful sugar daddy moment. Picture it. Me, with the two people I care about the most, one clinging to me on each side, me in the middle looking extremely pleased with myself. Oh, yeah baby, I was happy.

Wonderful Girly made us dinner and stuff. Then we had to go home. :( But it was lovely the three of us being able to meet up during the holidays, considering how far apart we are. I really enjoyed that :D

I went all clingy in the evening cos I knew I had to go home the next day, but I got to snuggle wth Avvie and stuff, so I have all good memories.

Then home. Boohoo. I didn't want to go.
I didn't want to get on the coach. I wanted to stay with Avvie lots. But still, I went home. Coaches coming back were good. Except the coach driver got lost in Oxfnord. I've been there once, and I could have told him he was going in the wrong direction for the coach station. We passed Christchurch college and were still driving around 10 minutes later. Ooops. But at Oxfnord we got put on to a more direct coach instead, so arrived at Birmingham all the sooner, woohoo!

Got back to fair Mancunia fine, anyhow, and actually slightly early (but not much). Arrived home and was, predictably, very tired. Pined, went on IM, talked lots, bounced, pined more, went to bed.

So that was my marvellous weekend. I had so much fun; we'll have to arrange another meeting soon!

EDIT: For a fuller account of this weekend, with all details left in (emphasis on all), you can read his account of things too. ;)

Sounds like a wonderful weekend! Glad you had fun with Avvie and Girly *grins* and got some wonderful fudge. Fudge is good. Nougat is good. Not sure about Turkish Delight but I'm having visions of strong-coffee-flavored something-or-others.

Nope, it's nothing like that at all! :) It's got the texture...I suppose like jelly babies. But it's flavoured with rosewater. Turkish Delight is terribly rich so you can't each much at a time, but it's quite delightful. They absolutely cover it in icing sugar. I personally prefer it with pieces of pistachio in, but that may just be me...

My ex's veddy proper English mum introduced me to the joys of Earl Gray and Cadbury Flake bars, but never to Turkish Delight. Sounds yummy!
