Erestor/Anniversary
14 July 2004 14:51Me: "I don't really like the crust slices on bread. When I was at Universirty I never ate them; I fed them to Erestor. Erestor got a lot of Hovis bread out of me last year."
Later on...
Me: "I actually rather miss ErestorSwan."
Brother: "Oh... Erestor is a swan?!"
Me: "Well, yes. This would explain my earlier comments about bread."
Brother: "Oh. I thought you were just talking about some random gay guy who likes to eat bread crusts."
Today is my parents' 20th Wedding Anniversary. So my dad's cunning plan was:
Morning: huge bunch of flowers arrives for my mother, complete with a note telling her to get ready for going out that evening
Evening: hot date to expensive restaurant
Unfortunately, the flowers didn't arrive till 2:30pm, at which point I'd decided to assume they weren't coming and informed my mum myself.
When they did arrive, they flower people has misspelled my mum's name on the card. Oh, yeah, very clever. OK, so she has a fairly unusual name, but it's pretty phonetic.
Still, I bet they'll have a great time tonight; my mum is wearing her pretty little black dress. And my dad has set me and my brother an unlimited budget to buy food for us to have tonight. Woohoo!

Date: 14 Jul 2004 13:56 (UTC)Plus the ingrained student thriftiness wil prevent me being too silly. I'll probably end up doing me a nice risotto.
But maybe I'll have fun and put in a dash of wine. And use turkey instead of bacon.
