My journal is called _____ because _____.
My subtitle is _____ because _____.
My friends page is called _____ because _____.
My user name is ____ because _____.
My journal is called The Bottomless Cavern of Enismirdal's Mind, because that pretty much summarises my though processes - lots of junk gets swallowed up, much of which is lost forever, while other bits are spurted out at random moments. Also sounds suitably pretentious and melodramatic.
My subtitle is where entropy reigns supreme... because that's also an accurate description of my brain. Chaos and much silliness of various kinds. Or that's what I'm told, anyhow.
My friends page is called The best people in this world and all the others because I adore the people on my friends list and they make me smile. Vaguely inspired by a dedication in a book by Peter Morwood to his wife Diane Duane: "For Diane, This book, This world, And all the others." (The Warlord's Domain - very good read)
My username is enismirdal because that's the name I use everywhere (online and to a lesser extent offline). Enismirdal being a charming little dragon in a excellent series of books by Barbara Hambly: "Enismirdal, yellow as the flowers, white and black."
In other news, Happy Birthday
rochvelleth and
ghoti and also to my brother The Sheep, who turns 16 today. I left him an anonymouse note on his website forum *grins*
Have been discovering the multiple delights of the EOAS Tagboard which is a lot of fun, although I'm still terrified of accidentally saying the wrong thing and making someone mad at me. Have been getting some RP practice away from the tagboard too :)
Sprouts's lump seems to be getting smaller each time we empty out more goo. The ever-gorgeous
kitsunenine is visiting me on Friday, and I'm incedibly overexcited at the prospect, but will have to make a token attempt to tidy my room, as it is currently ankle-deep in Daeron/Maglor, OMC/OMC, Het incest, bank statements, carrier bags and back issues of New Scientist.
New laptop ordered, so I may finally be free from the slowness and temperament of this computer. Yay! I'll be able to watch DVDs and *shock horror* load JPGs in something other than Paint without crashing everything!

Date: 1 Aug 2004 18:01 (UTC)(Don't tell anyone, but when I was a 14-year old troll on newsgroups I waged war on a Klingon newsgroup, apparently in the name of the Rihannsu, and Ms Duane, who was lurking, e-mailed me and asked me to please stop. Erm...yes. *shifts nervously from foot to foot* Well, better to learn these things when you're young, I suppose)

Date: 3 Aug 2004 11:58 (UTC)I adore the wizardry series, though 'Book of Night with Moon' was hard going! You know 'To Visit the Queen' was originally called 'On her Majesty's Wizardly Service'? They changed it for some reason!
Did you read the TNG book 'Dark Mirror'? If you look, there are some interesting referances to 'Deep Wizardry'.
I think her Wizardry books are the reason I can't read HP - they just don't compare IMHO!
You know, I found Deep Wizardry in the school library too - conviced the librarian to buy the rest - damn that was nearly 10 years ago!
Have you lost interest in Trek? I don't watch as much as I used to, but I'm still a huge fan!
Hmm, ok, I'm babbling... like Data... going now!
Tux
Babble away! :D
Date: 4 Aug 2004 19:17 (UTC)Aaah...it could have been On Her Majesty's Wizardry Service when I read it; my memory is terrible. Is it one of those books they release under a different title in the UK or the US, I wonder?
Did you ever read Duane's Tale of the Five series? They are excellent; I'm working through them now. Sunspark just rocks. And the lack of hang-ups about sexuality in the books is naturally very appealing ;)
I admit my Trek interest has waned somewhat these days, although I still have a soft spot for the New Frontier novels ;) And my novel collection still sits on my bookshelf. Data was great; I always had a soft spot for Vulcans and Romulans too. Maybe I have a predisposition for being attracted to pointy ears...?
