enismirdalI feel hungover, only without all the painful bits. Just the general sense of grittiness, brain-cotton-wool and world go away. Not very coherent. Man phoned dad when dad was out, and as I was taking message, it was not good. I had no idea what he was talking about. The fact that he interrupted me in the middle of food wasn't very helpful either. Meals and brains do not go together with me.
Could be the result of physical exertion; persuaded mum to fund 1 hour private riding lesson. Admin mix-up meant there was no horse allocated to me, so I got to pick my own - yay! Dillion is so cute and cuddly. He's got so many scars all over him from his last owner, but he's still just so sweet and quiet and friendly. Not a hint of malice in him anywhere. *coos for a bit*
He's OK to ride as well; he'll do more or less anything, just not always very well. But he's not going to be a dressage champion, I can assure you. Still, we worked at him for an hour, and by the end he was going quite well and my riding instructor said I rode better than he'd seen me do in quite some time :-) So Dillon (who was very sweaty from good honest hard work) got lots of cuddles and I put his string vest on and let him chew my fingers (but drew the line at him eating my watch as well).

Date: 29 Dec 2003 10:52 (UTC)I do bit of everything, but all rather badly (no competition) - I'd probably be almost passable if I had more confidence, but I've known too many grumpy riding school ponies who get the bit between their teeth and then find it terribly amusing to show off how stupid they can be to all their pony friends, which when I was younger was kinda scary :-)
As it is, I'm quite happy spending an hour trying to 'improve' a horse which years of squealing spoilt 8 year olds have ruined, and then have a nice fun canter at the end.
