I went on the Long Walk to do a Big Shop at Tesco's, which as usual was a definite improvement over Sainsbury's - and so I'd typically have to buy so much I made my arms an extra 3in. longer carrying it all home. Considering I only spent about as much as I'd spend if I ate in Hall for 3 days, and seem to have an almost infinite amount of food, I'm very pleased.

How do you fit 4 bedmakers in a first-year gyp room?
I don't know, but they somehow bleedin' managed it. Why they bothered, I do not know. It's tiny and stinks, but for some reason they all congregate here, like flamingoes round a shrimp pond.

Following a recent discussion on [livejournal.com profile] anuanu's LJ (edit: OK, maybe not so recent, http://www.livejournal.com/users/anuanu/36755.html ), it occurred to me that many of us have diverse and unusual LJ user names (and by extension, net-names). So, I pose the question for anyone who has an LJ username that's not obviously derived from their real name:
How did you get it and/or what does it mean?

I'll start: Enismirdal )
