I let the butterfly go yesterday morning - not really liking the idea of waking up one morning and finding I'd squashed it or swallowed it or something in my sleep, I put it in a lemonade bottle for the night with some more honey/water. Unfortunately butterflies are not very good at the idea of transparency and so it got a bit panicky and lost some wing scales during the night. Since it seemed much livelier than when I found it, and had been fed on lots of German honey, I let it go. Hopefully it will find some nettles and make baby butterflies now.

Also had an amusing light fitting failure - what I thought was a blown bulb was a dead light fitting (which demonstrates that I still can't work my multimeter, as I was unable to use it to establish if the bulb was kaput or not). So a lovely friendly and nice electrician came in to visit me and replaced my old nasty light fitting with a shiny new one higher up, so now my room is lit by 100W goodness.

Gave a presentation yesterday that went pretty well in general. But did get some constructive criticism from the lecturer which was fair and justified and definitely valuable, but since I'm currently a little more sensitive than usual perhaps maybe it sort of jolted my mood yesterday, especially as I then had a supervision where my Trends essay got nicely torn apart - which again, was useful and justified and so on, but there's only so much critique one can take before starting to feel generally negative towards one's own work! Anyway, the upside of this was that the lecturer e-mailed me today to congratulate me on taking the criticism with such good grace and said she was very impressed, so that was reassuring anyway!

Went for a 30 minute nap this evening and woke 2 hours later. Hee!

Oooh, and My mum is visiting at the weekend!!!!!!! This makes me happy and squeeful and stuff. She's also bringing me a new puter that my brother has installed all my favourite programs on. :D :D *is happy*
